Meet the Team

So Nice Research began in 2024, as I had been dreaming how to celebrate everyday garments that you could hike in, commute in, hug in, grab a bite to eat in, whatever.

Our team have had years together mending, cutting, and sewing vintage and deadstock textiles for Jess Meany, and I wanted to show off our skillset reinventing technical wear. We are a team of 3 who cut & sew everything ourselves in Los Angeles. Thank you for checking out our work :)

Hi, I'm Jess and I started working for myself after my 12-year long career in textile development had me dreaming about how we could love the materials that already exist on our planet. Most of our pieces are sewn to order so that we only make what folks want, and I am proud of the standard we set for what you can achieve with a small footprint. When I am not working I am riding my bike with friends or running around with my dog. Feel free to chat to me anytime about sewing, quilting, endurance sports, or your favorite instapot recipe.

Nick is a multi-disciplinary artist originally from St. Louis, Missouri. Primarily focused on watercolor paintings, his formal training in architecture has influenced his work to become precise and heavily technical. Passionate about working with his hands on many physical mediums, these drafting skills have transferred well into the world of garments. A collector, and lover of all things old, Nick finds himself often craving methods of creating things that stand the test of time, sewing being one which isn't going anywhere any time soon.

(Nick wrote this bio but I also want to add I am really proud of being able to work together with him whether it is in pattern-making, cutting, graphic design, etc the list goes on, he is basically the most talented person I know and you should check out his own work here.)
